Summer Solstice is Here
Published: Tuesday, 20 June 2017 16:54
The summer Solstice marks the first day of Summer and the day with the longest amount of sunlight. This year it falls at 10:24 pm MST on June 20, 2017
‘Solstice’ comes from the Latin, ‘solstitium’, meaning the stopping or standing still of the sun.
The summer solstice is marked with a number of festivals, feasts and rituals across different faiths, and strongly associated with fertility, growth and light.
The day is also used as marker for planting and harvesting crops.
Solstice is soon upon us…the day of the longest light and brightest in spirit. It is a sacred time that Our connection to the Great Mystery is felt as divine thoughts flow like lightening throughout the many realms of the Universe. Dreaming and visions are pronounced at this time, offering clarity and guidance on the path as the Sun nears its peak and illumines the remembrance of Our own abundant nature and eternal spiritual fire within. Many nations and cultures celebrate in their own special way honoring their ancestors, but as we are all children of the cosmos, we have the invitation to greet the Sun, celebrate and thank Our loving Star nations for the beauty and blessings given to us, both known and unknown, in whatever way calls to Our beautiful multi-dimensional, shining spirits.
Whatever you choose to do today, have a blessed time!
